According to the National Institute for Health Care Management (NIHCM) as society ages, the need for health care services intensifies, exacerbating shortages of health care workers, particularly in long-term facilities. Caregivers also play a crucial role in supporting the health and well-being of older adults. In this series correspondent Danielle Smith reports on starting the conversation about long-term health, the costs associated with it, how family members are affected and the impact is has on low-income Black families.
